1. What are the differences between shopping in a shopping mall and in a street market?
I believe shopping in a mall typically offers a more organized, climate-controlled environment with a wide variety of branded stores. Street markets, on the other hand, tend to have a more chaotic, open-air surroundings with vendors selling both both new and secondhand goods. Also, the latter offers goods at a much lower price, which is why it’s the go-to location for me.
- Climate-controlled (a) điều hoà/điều chỉnh được nhiệt độ
2. Is advertising important?
Yes, advertising is key in helping businesses raise brand awareness, which in turn drives sales. In Vietnam, startups would use digital ads on social media to extend the reach to potential buyers, converting them into customers.
3. What are the disadvantages of shopping in a street market?
One problem area is that the products sold are not properly labeled with clear origins. What this means is that the quality and authenticity are questionable at best and disregarded at worst. Further, the selection of products would be more limited, like only those produced locally would be in stock.
4. Do you think things are more expensive in big shopping malls?
Yes. I believe items are pricier in major shopping centers. This is due to higher overheads, including the rent to set up kiosks, that retailers have to incur. In fact, some expensive products like jewelry are even priced twice as high in shopping centers as elsewhere.
- Pricey (a) expensive/đắt tiền
