1. Bài mẫu (Sample)
One of the most memorable advertisements I’ve ever seen was for Milo malt drink. It was back in the summer of 2012, during my school break. I was just a young boy, spending a hot day at home, getting a bit bored with the TV programs I was watching. And then, a commercial started that instantly caught my eye – it was for Milo, that chocolatey drink which has a massive following across Southeast Asia and quickly became a staple in my own life.
The advertisement itself was incredibly dynamic and inspiring. It didn’t just showcase the product; it told a compelling story. The commercial featured a group of young children enthusiastically playing various sports, from football and basketball to running and swimming. The scenes were fast-paced and full of energy, depicting these kids pushing their limits and ultimately achieving their goals. Throughout the ad, the message was subtly yet powerfully reinforced: Milo is the fuel that gives them the energy to be champions.
I genuinely loved that advertisement. It moved beyond simply highlighting the taste of the drink, instead focusing on the tangible benefits it provides. The ad successfully forged a strong association between Milo and physical activity, making it seem like much more than just a beverage—it was portrayed as a vital partner in a healthy and active lifestyle. Watching it now makes me feel nostalgic for my own childhood days, and it also instilled a sense of warmth about the product’s overarching message of encouraging young people to be active and energetic.

2. Từ vựng (Vocabulary)

Part 3:
1. Do you think it is good to see the same advertisements everywhere?
From a marketing standpoint, I’d say prolonged exposure to a particular product would increase the chances for consumers to consider buying said product. From a regular guy’s point of view, I’d be interested if the products relate to my daily life, but as it gets repetitive, it’ll get stale very quickly for me.

2. Do people pay attention to advertisements on public transport?
I’d say yes, since those have caught my attention before. But arguments can be made for its effectiveness. I honestly never saw anyone in my circle buy any product because they “saw it on the side of the bus”. It can catch the attention of pedestrians, sure, but I doubt it would sell the product.
3. How does advertising affect people?
Some people, me included, don’t enjoy seeing ads at all, especially personalized ones. I always feel like they know a bit too much about my life and that alone makes me feel very vulnerable. My sister loves ads though, that might be why she scrolls Shopee so often lately.

4. Are advertisements good or bad for children?
On the one hand, advertisements can bring the right product to the right person. I’m talking about showing parents better and cheaper alternatives to the children’s products they are currently using. On the other hand, ads can exploit the vulnerable nature of children and capitalize on said morally grey line which I personally do not endorse.

5. What are the benefits of advertising?
For most, it is a way to have a personalized stream of recommendation. Since ads usually follow a strict algorithm to show consumers the product that relates to them, that they want to see. It can help products and services to reach a broader range of buyers than any “word of mouth can”, which can also be a detriment. Scams and cheap knock-offs can be advertised just as easily, so there needs to be consideration in the type of ads that’s shown to the public.

6. Where do we often see advertisements?
For the time being, I’d say everywhere. We’ve come to the point where ads are no longer a shoutout to a product, it is the norm of modern capitalistic society, and it deeply saddens me. Way back when, it was an effective tool to bring the right product to the right people. Now, it’s an oversaturated slop that does not provide much benefit to buyers or sellers.
