Absolutely yes, I think all children in our generation had to learn how to ride a bike as a survival skill. Without it, we’d have been stranded at home like shipwrecked sailors! Back then, parents were up to their ears with work just to make ends meet, so biking was essential. If you couldn’t ride, you couldn’t get to school, especially since most schools weren’t within walking distance. In short, being able to ride a bike was the ticket to freedom.
