Câu trả lời mẫu (Sample Answer)
1. Did you use coins as a child?
Undoubtedly, I think coins were a huge part of my childhood, actually. I remember my parents giving me small amounts of money as pocket money, usually in the form of coins. I’d get excited whenever I saved enough to hear that satisfying clink as they dropped into my piggy bank. I even had one of those traditional ceramic piggy banks that you had to smash to open, so it was like a big event when I finally decided to break it open and count my savings. In a way, it taught me a lot about patience and the value of money from a young age. So yeah, coins were a big deal back then!”
- pocket money: tiền tiêu vặt
- clink: tiếng leng keng (âm thanh khi các đồng xu va vào nhau)
- piggy bank: heo đất, hộp tiết kiệm
- smash: đập vỡ
2. Do you use coins in your daily life?
Not so much anymore, to be honest. These days, I mostly rely on digital payments or my credit card. I think it’s just more convenient. I do get coins as change sometimes when I pay in cash, but even then, I often find myself trying to get rid of them as quickly as possible. I’ll usually try to spend them the next time I buy something, or I’ll just leave them in the car for parking meters. But yeah, with the rise of contactless payments, coins just don’t seem as essential as they used to be. They kind of feel like a relic from another era, don’t they?
3. Is it convenient to use coins?
I’d say coins can be quite inconvenient, actually. They’re heavy, they take up space in your wallet or pockets, and you have to count them out when you’re in a hurry. Not to mention, some shops and vending machines don’t even accept them anymore, especially the smaller denominations. That said, I guess they do have their uses. Like, if you need exact change for something small, or if you’re in a place where cash is more commonly used, then coins can be handy. But in general, I think most people, including myself, prefer digital transactions these days.
- count them out: đếm từng đồng xu một
- denominations: mệnh giá (các giá trị tiền khác nhau, như đồng xu nhỏ hoặc đồng xu lớn)
- exact change: tiền lẻ chính xác (số tiền cần thiết cho một giao dịch)
- handy: hữu ích, thuận tiện
- digital transactions: giao dịch điện tử
4. Have you ever collected coins?
Definitely! When I was younger, I was really into collecting coins. My uncle used to travel a lot, and every time he came back from a new country, he would bring me some foreign coins as a souvenir. I had coins from places like Japan, Canada, and even some European countries before they adopted the Euro. It was fascinating to see the different designs and try to imagine what life was like in those places. I wouldn’t say I’m a serious coin collector now, but I still have that old collection tucked away somewhere. It’s nice, actually—it reminds me of my childhood and my curiosity about the world.
- tucked away: cất giữ ở nơi an toàn, thường là khuất tầm mắt
