1. How should parents teach their children what a risk is?

Parents should impart the lesson about risks to their children by explaining that it’s a situation where there’s a possibility of something going wrong or not turning out as expected. They can use examples from their own lives, such as trying new foods or taking a new route to school, to illustrate the concept. Additionally, parents can encourage their children to think critically about the potential consequences of a decision and weigh the potential risks and rewards

  • impart the lesson: truyền tải bài học
  • weigh the risks and rewards: cân nhắc những rủi ro và phần thưởng

2. What risks should parents tell their children to avoid?

Parents should advise their children to avoid taking unnecessary risks, such as engaging in dangerous behaviors like texting while driving or using social media without proper safety precautions. They should also warn their children about risks that could have long-term consequences, such as substance abuse or risky sexual behavior.

  • engage in dangerous behaviors: tham gia vào các hành vi nguy hiểm
  • substance abuse: lạm dụng chất kích thích

3. Why do some people like to watch risk-taking movies?

Some people enjoy watching risk-taking movies because they provide a sense of excitement and thrill, allowing them to experience vicariously through the characters. These movies can also serve as a way for people to confront and process their own fears and anxieties in a safe and controlled environment. Additionally, many people enjoy the adrenaline rush and sense of tension that comes with watching characters take risks on screen.

  • a sense of excitement and thrill: cảm giác hồi hộp và gay cấn
  • experience vicariously through somebody: trải nghiệm gián tiếp thông qua ai đó

4. What kinds of sports are dangerous but exciting?

Sports like skydiving, rock climbing, and extreme skiing are often considered dangerous but exciting because they involve high levels of physical risk and require athletes to push themselves to their limits. These sports can be thrilling for spectators and participants alike, as they often involve dramatic falls, high-speed collisions, and other heart-stopping moments

  • Skydiving (noun): nhảy dù
  • rock climbing (noun): leo núi
  • extreme skiing (noun): trượt tuyết mạo hiểm
  • heart-stopping moment: khoảnh khắc thót tim

5. Why do some people enjoy dangerous sports?

Some people enjoy dangerous sports because they provide a sense of exhilaration and accomplishment that can’t be replicated in other activities. These sports often require athletes to test their physical limits and push themselves to overcome fear and doubt. Additionally, many people enjoy the camaraderie and sense of belonging that comes with participating in a team or group of like-minded individuals who share similar passions and interests.

  • overcome fear and doubt: vượt qua nỗi sợ hãi và nghi ngờ
  • like-minded individuals: những cá nhân có cùng chí hướng

6. Who is more interested in taking risks, the young or the old?

It is safe to say that young people tend to be more interested in taking risks than older adults. This is because young people are often more impulsive and prone to seeking thrills and excitement. Additionally, many young people are still developing their risk management skills and may not fully appreciate the potential consequences of their actions. In contrast, older adults may have gained more wisdom and experience through life’s challenges and may be more cautious in their decision-making.

  • impulsive (adj): bốc đồng
  • cautious (adj): cẩn trọng
