1. Do you like new things or changes in life?
I tend to have mixed feelings when it comes to discovering new things and embracing changes in life. Exploring the world might not seem like a bad idea because trying new activities or meeting new people indeed allows me to broaden my horizons, learn new skills, and gain different perspectives. However, I value stability and consistency more. Having a routine and knowing what to expect can provide a sense of security and tranquility. Familiarity allows me to feel grounded and helps me maintain balance amidst the uncertainties of life. I wouldn’t exchange my comfort and reassurance for unseeable risks, especially during times of stress or when facing significant life transitions.
- mixed feelings: cảm xúc lẫn lộn
- broaden my horizons: mở rộng tầm nhìn, hiểu biết của tôi
- feel grounded: cảm thấy vững vàng
2. Why do some people quit and change jobs?
Various reasons can be mentioned as to why individuals choose to quit their occupations and seek new opportunities. One of the common factors that contribute to job changes is career advancement, with people finding their current jobs stagnate and thus need to seek out new challenges for growth and development. Dissatisfaction with current roles or work environments may also be a major culprit for many turnover cases owing to the limited opportunities for professional development, or poor relationships with colleagues and superiors.
- career advancement: sự thăng tiến trong sự nghiệp
- stagnate: trì trệ, đình trệ
- turnover cases: những trường hợp nghỉ việc
3. How do you adapt to changes in life?
I understand that we all inevitably need to face changes as we progress, and adapting to varied circumstances to me requires multiple strategies. First off, I tend to maintain a positive mindset and go with the flow instead of resisting or fearing changes. I embrace them as natural parts of life and hold an outlook that they often lead to new experiences and positive possibilities. Apart from that, sustaining a certain level of openness also allows me to explore and accept new perspectives and ideas. It enables me to adapt more readily by accepting different approaches or ways of thinking.
- varied circumstances: hoàn cảnh, tình huống khác nhau
- hold an outlook: có cách nhìn, quan điểm
- ways of thinking: những lối tư duy, suy nghĩ
4. Who can adapt better to changes, children or adults?
It is widely considered that children generally have a natural inclination and flexibility that allows them to adapt more easily than adults. Despite having effective coping mechanisms through years of experiences and challenges, adults’ fixed routines and preconceived notions that have been developed over time may block them from adopting new situations. Children, however, possess all the willingness and curiosity in the world to absorb new content. With their cognitive abilities in the making, they possess the innate capacity to adjust their mindset to new circumstances without resistance.
- natural inclination: khuynh hướng tự nhiên
- coping mechanisms: cơ chế ứng phó
- preconceived notions: những quan điểm định sẵn
- innate capacity: khả năng bẩm sinh
5. When things like getting married or moving home happen, what kinds of things would you consider?
When major life events as such occur, several scenarios cross my mind on how to effectively take these events into account. Financial stability must be on top to make the transitions happen as smoothly as possible since no one wants to have their debts and expenses take a toll on their new life. Considering factors like savings, obtaining adequate income, and sufficient financial plans can help make informed decisions and ensure sustainability in the long term. Another important point that I keep in mind would be to discuss these decisions with my loved ones, considering their perspectives, support, and potential adjustments required to maintain strong and healthy connections when the events take place.
- financial stability: sự ổn định tài chính
- take a toll on: gây ảnh hưởng tiêu cực lên
- informed decisions: quyết định sáng suốt
6. What are the disadvantages when people keep making changes?
While change may bring about positive outcomes, there are several disadvantages associated with constant changes. Adapting to new situations frequently can be emotionally and mentally draining to a person, causing them severe stress. The uncertainty and unpredictability that come with continuous change can lead to feelings of anxiety, overwhelm, and a sense of being on the edge. Constant changes also come with a lack of stability, robbing people of solid security and foundation in exchange for feelings of restlessness and succumbing to a state of flux.
- mentally draining: cạn kiệt về mặt tinh thần
- unpredictability: sự khó lường, không thể dự đoán
- solid security: tính bảo mật vững chắc
- restlessness: sự bồn chồn, bất an
- state of flux: trạng thái thay đổi liên tục
