Should people be banned from talking loudly in public places?
Should parents teach their children to behave well in public?
Why do some people not care about their actions in public?

1. Should people be banned from talking loudly in public places?

I believe it’s not a good idea to always ban people from talking loudly in public places. The reason is that the talk can actually sometimes be beneficial, like sports fans cheering, whistling and screaming out names of favorite players, which counts as talking to them and makes them feel fired up because it’s stirring. Another situation is when people are so spread out that their loud talking is inaudible, not bothering each other a bit, like my story in part 2.

2. Should parents teach their children to behave well in public?

Definitely. It is because parenting can shape children’s behaviors. Specifically, by explaining that behaving appropriately in public makes others feel respected, who would in turn treat one accordingly, parents can persuade children to want to be on their best behavior. Also, parents may want to take on the role of educating well-behaved children as this contributes to a civilized society, making them feel proud of themselves as a responsible member, especially during the childhood of their sons or daughters, who are still under their duty of care.

  • Accordingly: tương tự

3. Why do some people not care about their actions in public?

I would argue that it is due to their selfish nature. These people might try to justify their indifference by saying that they do not want to be a people pleaser, but those behaving in public with total disregard of others’ feelings are just pure self-centered and obnoxious, for the fact that they can be considerate without compromising their authenticity, like cleaning up after themselves or not cutting lines. Admittedly, there are times when people fail to do these out of ignorance, say when they are preoccupied with work or study. If this is the case, I think they should be cut some slack.

  • People pleaser: người luôn cố làm hài lòng người khác (nghĩa tiêu cực)
