1. Why do people often have problems when using new products?
People are often met with problems when using new products because they rarely bother reading the user manual, thinking that it’s such a hassle compared with just experimenting their ways through all the features and functions and learning from such hands-on experience to success. Vietnamese laptop users are certainly guilty of this habit, like never clearing air vents clogged with lint and dust until the device overheats and crashes, though it’s advised against in the guide.
2. How do people use digital devices to help them with their studies?
People make use of digital devices to aid learning activities via study apps. The software incorporates not only visual aids but also audio, bringing the concepts of focus to life to be more memorable. Take learning English for example. Students around the globe have been using flashcard apps on their phones to reinforce their memory of new vocab for as long as these apps have been around, as the learning materials are authentic, real-world English.
3. Do people spend too much time looking at digital screens? Why?
Yes, I believe people’s screen time these days is much too high, because it far exceeds the recommended levels by scientists. In fact, it has even strained people’s eyes and impaired their vision, as evidenced by the record high number of individuals citing spending hours on end with eyes glued to PC monitors as the cause for their nearsightedness.
4. Do you think that parents should limit the time that their children spend using their mobile phones?
No, I don’t think it’s a good idea for parents to impose a limit on children’s mobile phone time because imposing has never been an effective educational method. Children whose parents dictate how long they have with their phones often are defiant, either explicitly, like talking back, or implicitly, like being secretive about using the device.

5. What do people do with mobile phones?
People use mobile phones for all kinds of purposes. Apart from educational software like I mentioned earlier, cell phones can connect individuals through long-distance text messages and phone calls. At the height of the covid-19 pandemic a few years ago, talking through phones was even preferred over face-to-face as it prevented the virus’ airborne transmission.

6. What do you think of people who are addicted to playing computers?
I think they need help to break their addiction from both their families and society. The former can encourage game addicts to not succumb to their temptations, while the latter can organize group therapy sessions among them and recovered victims, so that they can feel validated, and thus more determined to unplug from computers.
