1. Why do people visit tourist attractions?

There are plenty of factors that lead people to explore such destinations. Perhaps people are intrigued by the sights of iconic landmarks that they have seen on the Internet and want to see them first-hand. Additionally, sharing photos of famous places, for example, on social media, can help visitors enhance their social status, fostering a sense of pride and accomplishment.

  • Iconic landmarks: công trình biểu tượng

2. What makes a tourist attraction famous?

The fame of tourist spots can be attributed to a number of aspects. Firstly, they could be because of their historical and cultural significance. This can be seen in the cases of tourist hotspots such as Hoa Lo Prision Relic or Temple of Literature in Hanoi, attracting thousands of visitors every year fascinated to learn about their historical backgrounds. Secondly, good marketing can make a place popular among travellers. Many tend to go for the first most reviewed locations that they stumble upon the Internet, as they tend to guarantee higher level of credibility and satisfaction

3. Do local people like to visit local tourist attractions?

I think this actually depends. For some people, local tourist spots offer an opportunity to learn about the historical and cultural backgrounds of their own region, thus reinforcing a sense of pride and patriotism. However, for ther others, the idea of frequenting familiar places around their neighborhoods doesn’t appeal to them, and thus they are more motivated to travel somewhere faraway to experience an entirely different culture and expand their horizon.

  • Patriotism: lòng yêu nước

4. Do you think tourism causes environmental damage?

Defititely, tourism can have long-term impact for the surrounding environment. Ecological traits are exploited for the instruction of hotels, roads and other types of infrastructures to accommodate the growing number of tourists. Additionally, tourism activities are responsible for a huge amount of carbon footprint, particularly from air travel and energy consumption of hotels and resorts.

5. How can people prevent the environmental damage caused by tourism?

Individuals can play a more proactive role in protecting the environment from impacts of tourism. To begin with, they should take part in eco-tourism or local conservation projects to promote sustainability. Moreover, tourists should make a conscious effort to lower their carbon footprint. This can be achieved by opting for public transportation instead of personal vehicles, or bringing their own water bottles and shopping bags and refusing single-use plastics.

  • Sustainability: tính bền vững
  • carbon footprint: Dấu chân carbon
  • single-use plastics: Nhựa dùng 1 lần

6. Should all tourist attractions be free to the public?

This question is really putting me on the spot. While I would love to visit certain places of interests for free, it don’t think it would be practical. Free admission may lead to overcrowding, causing damage to the sites. For instance, an influx of guests to museums and art galleries can cause damage to the artifacts displayed.
