What are the benefits of using technology in the workplace?
Why do some people in the workplace dislike technology?
Why do people buy a lot of household appliances?
What do people often do with electronic devices?
1. What equipment do you find difficult to use?
Honestly? Nothing. Most people struggle with electronics, and even though I’m not an avid technophile, I can read a manual and follow instructions just fine. I haven’t broken anything in my house and I’m quite proud of that.
- technophile: người đam mê công nghệ
2. What can you do with a laptop?
Other from standard stuff like filing documents, I can work with some programs for graphic design. I took some intro classes to Adobe while I was in college but decided not to pursue a career in this field.
- file document: soạn thảo văn bản
3. What are the benefits of using technology in the workplace?
There are so many, I don’t even know where to begin. I would surmise the physical space has been freed up, thanks to digital filing systems. That and cloud storage must have helped with internal sharing of information.
- surmise: đoán
- physical space: không gian
- digital filing systems: hệ thống quản lý dữ liệu
- cloud storage: dữ liệu đám mây
4. Why do some people in the workplace dislike technology?
I don’t think it is technology that they are against, but changes. It is just human nature to prefer the way things are, so when they have to make changes, older workers probably have a harder time adjusting. On the other hand, there is a chance that some younger novices do not have experience working with certain programs or machinery, so they would find it frustrating learning how to operate those.
- to be against something: phản đối
- human nature: bản năng con người
- novices: người học việc
5. Why do people buy a lot of household appliances?
Because it makes our lives easier, of course. I mean, would you rather spend your Sunday mornings sleeping in, or hand-washing your white shirts? Still, while most devices are essentials that can elevate our living experience, some are simply knick-knacks, forced onto us by consumerism. Like, there is no way to justify buying a set of LED lights – it’s not even a reading lamp with actual function.
- elevate: nâng tầm
- knick-knacks: đồ lặt vặt
- consumerism: chủ nghĩa tiêu thụ
6. What do people often do with electronic devices?
Hopefully, their intended purposes. You would be surprised by how creative people can get with them. I recall seeing videos of street vendors in India making lassi, you know – the drink, with top-load washing machines.
