1. Why do some children not like learning science at school?

Well, in Vietnamese context, I think some children may not like learning science at school because it can sometimes be presented in a way that feels too theoretical or disconnected from their everyday lives. It’s important for teachers to make science engaging and relatable to capture their interest

  • theoretical (adj): lý thuyết
  • make science engaging and relatable: khiến khoa học trở nên thú vị và dễ liên hệ

2. Is it important to study science at school?

Absolutely, studying science at school is incredibly important. It helps students develop critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and a deeper understanding of the world around them. Another point I would like to mention is that being good at the natural sciences help students advance academically, meaning higher chance of securing prestigious seats of learning if they demonstrate excellence in STEM subjects.

3. Which science subject is the most important for children to learn?

I don’t think there’s one clear-cut answer to that. It really depends on the individual and their interests. However, subjects like biology, physics, and chemistry are often considered fundamental and provide a strong foundation for scientific knowledge.

  • fundamental (adj): căn bản

4. Should people continue to study science after graduating from school?

Well, I suppose it’s not necessary for everyone to continue studying science after graduating from school. However, keeping up with scientific advancements and having a basic understanding of scientific principles can be beneficial for staying informed and making informed decisions in today’s rapidly advancing world.

  • making informed decisions: đưa ra những quyết định sáng suốt

5.How do you get to know about scientific news?

I suppose most updates about scientific breakthroughs are made formally through research papers. It’s the legitimate channel through which these findings can be published and peer reviewed. Only after this arduous process can new discovery enter mainstream platforms, newspapers, social media or online blogs.

  • legitimate channel: kênh chính thống

6. Should scientists explain the research process to the public?

Definitely, while some contend that the know-how and terminologies involved in the studies can be quite elusive to normal people, I think it is necessary to be transparent. Especially when it comes to tests and trials in the food manufacturing industry, where consumers are directly affected. The fact that they are made aware of the  basic information in the process such as what the product contains and how it is made helps ensures safety
