1. What can governments do to improve people’s health?

Governments can play a crucial role in promoting public health. First, they can invest more in public health campaigns that educate people about the dangers of smoking, excessive sugar consumption, and a sedentary lifestyle. Additionally, authorities can impose stricter regulations on fast food advertising, especially those targeted at children. Another effective way is to improve public infrastructure — for example, by building more parks, bike lanes, and affordable gyms, which encourage people to stay physically active. Subsidizing healthy food or making it cheaper in schools and supermarkets can also make a significant difference.

  • crucial role – vai trò quan trọng
  • public health campaigns – chiến dịch sức khỏe cộng đồng
  • stricter regulations – quy định nghiêm ngặt hơn

2. What activities can schools organize for children to keep fit?

Schools can organize a variety of physical activities such as daily morning exercises, sports days, and after-school clubs for football, basketball, or even dance and martial arts. They can also include fun fitness challenges, like step-count competitions or healthy cooking workshops. Importantly, PE classes should be engaging and inclusive so that all children, not just the athletic ones, feel motivated to participate. Schools can also invite guest speakers like nutritionists or athletes to talk about the importance of an active lifestyle

  • subsidizing healthy food – trợ cấp thực phẩm lành mạnh
  • fun fitness challenges – thử thách thể dục vui nhộn
  • active lifestyle – lối sống năng động

3. How can you tell whether a website is reliable or not?

A reliable website usually provides sources for its claims, such as links to academic studies or expert opinions. It is also often associated with reputable organizations, such as hospitals, universities, or government health departments. Another way to evaluate reliability is to look at the author’s credentials — if the article is written by a certified doctor or nutritionist, it’s more trustworthy. Finally, reliable websites tend to avoid clickbait titles and sensational language. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

  • clickbait titles – tiêu đề giật gân

4. Do you think people are healthier now than in the past?

It depends on how we define “health.” On one hand, people today have better access to healthcare, more knowledge about nutrition, and more tools to monitor their health, like fitness apps or smartwatches. As a result, many live longer and are more aware of lifestyle-related diseases. On the other hand, modern life has introduced new health challenges, such as stress, sedentary habits, and overconsumption of processed foods. So while we may be more advanced in terms of technology and treatment, our actual lifestyles might not always be healthier.

  • better access to healthcare – khả năng tiếp cận dịch vụ y tế tốt hơn
  • sedentary habits – thói quen ít vận động
  • processed foods – thực phẩm chế biến sẵn
