This makes me think of Ms. Fiona, a former university teacher of mine. I think all of my classmates would agree with me that she was the one who was the embodiment of positivity any time she entered our class. I will tell you more about such an adorable teacher now.
As I was saying, I first met her when I was in year 3 in college, and she taught us research methodology, you know, that was presumably a deadly dry and abstract subject. However, Ms. Fiona always started her lesson with fun and relatable anecdotes and a smiley face that really attracted the whole class. Her positive energy revealed in her charming voice was so engaging that we all found it easier to start working on the theories and I felt more willing to voice my opinion on any questions that she posed.
At the very first time when I attended her class, I was hooked instantly by her style as well, she dressed really smartly and looked very stylish in her denim jacket. Even though she was about 10 years older than us, she looked very youthful and active. Actually, she left a lasting impression on me, and I’ve always seen her as a role model for me since then. Her image as a dedicated teacher inspired me a lot, which keeps me working hard every day to become a teacher like her.
All in all, I absolutely adore Ms. Fiona, a positive and dedicated teacher, who is always full of beans and motivated us to work diligently and enjoy what we learnt.

2. Bài mẫu 2 (Sample 2)

Bài mẫu (Sample)
One of my friends from class, James, who is also my roommate, is such a bundle of energy. He is Caucasian, black-haired, about 6 ft, so rather tall by Vietnamese standards. We are sharing a double room just a few hundred meters down the street from the university campus, and we both go to all the lectures in our Teaching English as a Second Language Master’s Degree Program.
From the get-go, I could feel that James was full of life. When we chatted, he spoke with a dramatic, up-and-down type of voice, frequently being emphatic at certain words by raising his pitch, volume or even with bursts of air from his mouth. His high-energy voice is often accompanied by animated gestures, from slapping his knees to holding his stomach as he is laughing out loud.
James tells me he always feels active. In the morning, he leaps out of bed bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. When waiting for the breakfast pancakes to fluff up, he hums his favorite tunes and busts an energetic dance move, spinning around like a top. He then throws himself into studying, tearing through his to-do lists. He is actually so hyper that during lectures, he can’t sit still but has to move around, or at least fidgets at his seat.
I would say James has so much stamina because he always sleeps 8 hours a day and soundly, given its restorative effect. He also fuels his body by eating wholefood, say mixed nuts, which is not only caloric but also rich in nutrients. Thanks to such a healthy lifestyle, every Sunday James runs half a marathon in the day, and can still summon the energy to do powerlifting at the gym in the evening.

- Do you think machines could replace human workers in the future?
- Can physical workers receive higher salaries in the future?
- What’s the difference between the payment for physical work and that for mental work?
- What kinds of jobs need a lot of physical work?
- What kinds of jobs require physical energy?
- What should elderly people do to stay healthy?
- Does age affect physical strength?
1. Do you think machines could replace human workers in the future?
I do believe that technological advances, including cutting-edge machinery will leave an enormous impact and therefore provide crucial assistance in human’s work. That’s why I believe some entry-level jobs such as factory workers or deliverymen will soon be replaced by machines or delivery robots. These AI-assisted tools will be more productive and reliable in these manual and repetitive tasks given their high precision and endurance. However, when it comes to more demanding jobs that require higher levels of expertise and sophistication, high-tech devices can only be used to contribute to some parts of the process, while humans can focus more on the more complicated and strategic tasks.
- Entry-level jobs: các công việc không yêu cầu cao
- Endurance: sức bền bỉ
- Sophistication/ sophisticated: độ phức tạp/ tinh tế
- Expertise: kiến thức chuyên môn
2. Can physical workers receive higher salaries in the future?
As I was saying, the availability of manual work may be affected by the wider utilization of cutting-edge machines, but I reckon that there will be chances for those who aspire to enhance their skills and become more specialized in the field. That’s what can drive up their wages. For example, jobs such as managing robots or operating advanced machines will surely require the workers to gain more in-depth knowledge to ensure that they can handle their work well, and they deserve better compensation for their efforts and contribution.
- Manual work: physical work
- Utilization: ứng dụng
- Cutting-edge: hiện đại
- Aspire to: mong muốn làm được điều gì
- Compensation: thù lao
3. What’s the difference between the payment for physical work and that for mental work?
In many cases, jobs involving mental efforts are more likely to require people to have higher levels of education. This can also translate into higher salaries, since employees are supposed to invest more in their formal training, both time and effort, in order to be eligible for the job. That said, some specific jobs that are high-risk or associated with high craftsmanship offer really competitive pay. These include construction, aviation or underground mining, to name but a few. People working in such dangerous situation should deserve higher rem
4. What kinds of jobs need a lot of physical work?
There are quite a few jobs that require a significant amount of physical effort. For example, positions in construction, such as laborers, carpenters, and bricklayers, often involve strenuous tasks like lifting heavy objects, using various tools, and maintaining physical endurance throughout the workday. Likewise, occupations in agriculture, such as farm workers or landscapers, also necessitate considerable physical work, including activities like planting, harvesting crops, and managing large outdoor areas.
- Strenuous: cần nhiều sức lực
- Maintain physical endurance: giữ sức bền
- Necessitate: cần đến/ yêu cầu
5. What kinds of jobs require physical energy?
One line of work that requires physical power is powerlifting. Another is wrestling. They are expected to use brute force to perform feats of strength, which symbolize and promote athleticism. I saw some footage on Youtube of elite powerlifters pulling 500 kg off the ground, and 80-kg wrestlers throwing men twice their body weight over their shoulders.
- Physical power – sức mạnh thể chất
- Powerlifting – môn nâng tạ sức mạnh
- Wrestling – môn đấu vật
- Brute force – sức mạnh cơ bắp thô bạo
- Feats of strength – những màn thể hiện sức mạnh phi thường
- Athleticism – thể chất mạnh mẽ, khả năng vận động tốt
- Footage – đoạn video, cảnh quay
- Elite – ưu tú, xuất sắc (chỉ nhóm người ở đỉnh cao trong lĩnh vực nào đó)
6. What should elderly people do to stay healthy?
The elderly should embrace regular exercise, proper nutrition and rest to be in good health. What is more, they should frequently go to see the doctors for a checkup to keep tabs on their health. Since my friend James does all of these, I think he will lead a healthy life well into his golden years.
- Embrace – chấp nhận, thực hiện (một thói quen hoặc lối sống)
- Checkup – kiểm tra sức khoẻ định kỳ
- Keep tabs on – theo dõi sát sao (về tình trạng, sức khoẻ…)
- Lead a healthy life – sống một cuộc sống lành mạnh
- Golden years – tuổi già, giai đoạn xế chiều của cuộc đời
7. Does age affect physical strength?
As much as people like to dismiss age as only a number these days, I would say it definitely is responsible for the loss of body strength. A case in point is that senior citizens’ bones have become brittle, joints stiffened, and muscles shrunk, which do not lend themselves to bearing as heavy loads as in young adulthood. If they push too hard physically, they might even sustain severe injuries, including paralysis.
- Dismiss – xem nhẹ, coi thường
- Case in point – ví dụ điển hình
- Senior citizens – người cao tuổi
- Brittle – giòn, dễ gãy
- Stiffened – bị cứng lại
- Shrunk – teo lại, thu nhỏ (quá khứ của “shrink”)
- Lend themselves to (something) – phù hợp với điều gì đó
- Sustain – chịu đựng, gánh chịu (thường nói về chấn thương)
- Paralysis – tình trạng liệt
