So in recent years, people have become more health conscious. This has led to a large number of news outlets, influencers, and so on emphasizing the need to stay active and exercise, which I believe is crucial to a good health.  

So I don’t think I need to go into detail about the benefits of exercising for your health. People have said that staying active is rejuvenating, and I have seen met people in their 30s or 40s looking 10 years younger because they take good care of their bodies and work out a lot. Exercising also induces the release of dopamine – the feel good hormone – which improves people’s mood (I guess that’s why they say a healthy body equals a healthy mind). Lastly, frequent exercise increases your stamina, physical health, and builds up your body’s resistance against ailment. 

I’m a bit of a couch potato, so I don’t exercise that often. However, I do see a lot of people going to the gym after work, or going to the park to jog or do Yoga during the afternoon or in the evening. This is especially true for Vietnamese elders, who are very health conscious in their old age. 

Given the benefits of exercising, I have no doubt that it deserves more attention. I’ve been wanting to be more active in the future, maybe by going running in the morning so I’d feel more energetic and awake during the day. Hope I achieve this goal in the future!

1. Should schools provide physical education to students? Why and how? 

Yes, definitely. Schools should include physical education (PE) in their curriculum because it helps students stay active and develop healthy habits from a young age. PE classes also teach teamwork, discipline, and the importance of regular movement. Schools can make PE more fun and engaging by offering a variety of activities, such as team sports, dancing, or even yoga, instead of just traditional exercises.

2. How can we use technology to keep fit? 

Technology can be very helpful in promoting fitness. There are so many fitness apps and wearable devices, like smartwatches or fitness bands, that help track your steps, calories, and sleep. Some apps also offer virtual workout classes, which make it easier for people to exercise at home. Even YouTube is full of free exercise videos, so there’s really no excuse not to stay active nowadays.

3. Do you think it is good for governments to utilize popular celebrities to help build health awareness? 

Yes, using celebrities can be very effective because they have a strong influence on the public, especially young people. When a famous actor or singer promotes healthy habits, people are more likely to pay attention and take it seriously. However, it’s important that these celebrities set a good example and genuinely follow the healthy lifestyle they’re promoting.

4. How can parents help and guide their kids to keep healthy? 

Parents play a crucial role in shaping their children’s habits. They can encourage kids to eat more fruits and vegetables, limit screen time, and participate in physical activities like riding bikes or playing outdoors. Most importantly, parents should lead by example — if kids see their parents staying active and eating well, they’re more likely to copy those behaviors.

5. Are there other sports that are popular in your country? 

Well, pickle ball is just all the rage lately. It’s like a mix between table tennis and actual tennis. I don’t see what all the fuss is about to be honest, ‘cause it’s quite similar to tennis or badminton. 

6. Are there ways to help busy people learn about it? 

Not really. The only way for busy people to take their health seriously is for them to experience the detriments of their lifestyle on their health themselves, and to take action to be more active.

Well, reducing office hours or lightening their workload might help. Companies could also encourage their employees to be more active if they offer f
