Câu trả lời mẫu (Sample Answer) Home country IELTS Speaking Part 1
1. Which part of your country do you want to live in?
Sample 1: I’ve always been enthusiastic about coastal areas, so I’d love to live in the central provinces of Vietnam. I find the beaches very calming, and they always soothe me.
- Soothe (v) xoa dịu, làm dịu
Sample 2: I’d love to live in Central Vietnam because it has so many stunning beaches. You know, I adore the feeling of lying back on a lounge chair, soaking up the sun, closing my eyes, and enjoying the cool breeze and the sound of the waves – it’s such an amazing sensation.
- stunning beaches: những bãi biển đẹp
- soak up the sun: tắm nắng
- the cool breeze: cơn gió mát lạnh
2. What makes you feel proud of your country?
Sample 1: The thing I’m most proud of is our cuisine. We have a great diversity of food to choose from, from broth-based dishes such as Pho to other signature dishes such as Banh Mi. Another thing I love about our cuisine is the balance of nutrients. Unlike Western cuisine, we always have vegetables as a main ingredient in our meals.
- Cuisine (n) ẩm thực
- Broth-based dishes: các món ăn có nước lèo
Sample 2: What I’m most proud of about my homeland is the resilience of the Vietnamese people. Despite being small in stature, they have repeatedly shown incredible strength in defending the nation against foreign invaders to protect our independence and sovereignty – something not every country can achieve.
- the resilience of: sự kiên cường bền bỉ
- small in stature: vóc dáng nhỏ bé
- foreign invaders: giặc ngoại xâm
- independence and sovereignty: độc lập chủ quyền
3. Do you know the history of your country well?
Sample 1: I wouldn’t say I’m knowledgeable, but I have a basic grasp of our history thanks to what I learnt from school. However, I can confidently name several remarkable events such as Independence Day, or Reunification Day.
- Have a basic grasp of: có hiểu biết căn bản về điều gì đó
- Reunification Day: ngày giải phóng đất nước
Sample 2: I’m a bit embarrassed to admit this, but I only remember the most significant events in Vietnam’s history, like Independence Day. It’s probably because my memory isn’t great, and the way history was taught in school was quite boring, so I didn’t find it interesting at all.
4. Will you stay in Vietnam in the future?
Sample 1: Sure, I will. My family and friends are here, and I don’t think I can live alone abroad without them. I used to dream of moving to England, but then I realized that Vietnam is the best country in the world. I am accustomed to the food, the lifestyle, and culture here. That’s why I don’t intend to reside anywhere else.
- Be accustomed to (adj) quen với điều gì
- Reside (v) sinh sống ở một nơi nào đó
Sample 2:
Absolutely. Even if I had a lot of money, I’d still live in Vietnam and only travel abroad for vacations. Although other countries might have more spectacular landscapes, in my opinion, no food compares to Vietnamese cuisine.
- spectacular landscapes: cảnh đẹp tuyệt vời
