Introduction: negative development concerning environmental impact and social implications
Body 1: This trend can place serious strain on the environemnt
- manufacturing activities – require raw materials (metals and plastics) à mining activities à seriously ruin the environment
- Transportation à release greenhouse gases
- dumping à e-waste which contains a variety of toxic substances (mercury and lead). When buried in landfills, they might be absorbed into the ground, causing serious danger to soil, water, air and wildlife.
Body 2: the increased use of such appliances might result in negative social and health impact
- sedentary lifestyle à lack of physical activity à potentially contribute to obesity and cardiovascular problems
- Overeliance à reduce basic and traditional skills (cooking) à may not survive under extreme conditions
Conclusion: Restate: drawbacks created by this trend are significant and worth considering
