ielts speaking part 3 do young people like to do sports?

1. Do young people like to do sports?

Absolutely yes because sports can have a lot of positive effects on them. For instance, participating in physically demanding sports like soccer and cricket will help them stay physically fit and healthy by lowering their risk of developing thought-provoking conditions like obesity, heart disease, cancer, and other serious ailments. Additionally, these activities aid in the treatment of mental diseases such as depression and chronic anxiety. Finally, playing brain-racking games like “chess” stimulates the parts of the brain that are crucial for memory development.

  • stay physically fit and healthy: giữ thể lực và khỏe mạnh
  • thought-provoking: kích thích tư duy
  • brain-racking: vận động trí não

2. What are the benefits of sports for children?

First and foremost, sports have many positive health effects for young children. Children have greater space to move about and be more active when playing outside, which allows them to develop strong bones and burn calories. In addition, exposure to sunlight, even in the winter, ensures that kids naturally absorb the vitamin D they need. Second, because they have to venture outside their comfort zones, sport activities teach kids to be more daring. This teaches kids to test their limits and improves their risk assessment skills. Additionally, it helps kids to experiment with new games and develop their confidence in learning to do new things without adult supervision.

  • move about: di chuyển
  • venture outside their comfort zones: mạo hiểm bên ngoài vùng an toàn

3. Is it necessary to build public sports spaces?

There would not be any doubts about it because sports are part and parcel of improving residents’ health. However, city dwellers or even country locals would find the majority of sport equipment unaffordable to have them at home. Besides, some people would find practicing sports alone tedious, not to mention some sports that would definitely require another player. Therefore, with the construction of public sports spaces, people would stand more chances of socializing and enhancing their health at the same time.

  • part and parcel: một phần và cốt lõi
  • stand more chances of socializing: có thêm cơ hội giao lưu

4. What do you think of companies donating sports venues for poor children?

On the first hand, companies are launching their marketing campaigns to enhance their reputation. The more they donated, the more well-known they might become under public’s eyes. Moreover, organizations that manufacture or trade sport facilities can also promote their products better. On the other hand, underprivileged children can gain better access to improving their health. Sport equipment or gym membership may even be extravagant for not only the below-average but also the working classes. Therefore, corporations donating sports venues for impoverished children may be mutually beneficial for them and the children.

  • enhance their reputation: nâng cao uy tín
  • under public’s eyes: trong mắt công chúng
  • underprivileged: kém may mắn
  • extravagant: xa xỉ
  • below-average class: tầng lớp có cuộc sống dưới mức trung bình
  • working class: tầng lớp lao động
