1. Do you enjoy your current stage of life?

Paraphrase:

  • current stage of life = where I am in life
  • to enjoy = content (adj) = fulfilled

Example: I’m actually very happy with where I am in life. I’m feeling very content every day. I feel like I’m doing something creatively fullfiling. What I’m doing right now, they give me a sense of purpose…

  • creatively fulfilling (adj) mô tả sự hài lòng (khi được làm điều ta yêu thích và có thể làm tốt)
  • to have a sense of purpose: (mô tả cách sống, cách làm việc) có mục đích

2. In which stage of your life were you the happiest?

  • the good old days (adj) mô tả những ngày xưa cũ (người nói cảm thấy tốt hơn hiện tại)
  • to reminisce: hồi tưởng
  • idyllic (adj) lý tưởng

Example: I do think we all have a habit of reminiscing the good old days. Life’s always idyllic when we were younger….

3. Which stage of your life do you think the most important?

  • life-changing = life – altering (adj) có tính chất quyết định, thay đổi cuộc sống
  • defining (adj) bước ngoặt
  • momentous (adj) mang tính biểu tượng, quan trọng
  • rite of passage (n) một biến cố trong đời, khiến người ta trở thành người khác hẳn

Example: This is a very difficult question. Because I think each stages of life can be defining in their own way. So for a lot of people, adolescence is the most momentous period of life because it’s the rite of passage that valuably shapes your character, or form the belief that’s gonna be beneficient to all the things you do in your life.

4. What’s your plan for your next stage of life?

  • do not have the faintest idea = don’t know anything at all

Example: I haven’t got the faintest idea of doing something tomorrow, let alone my next stage of life. But I guess I plan to/intend to/have a tentative plan/…

  • nothing is set in stone: không có gì là chắc chắn cả
  • I’ll leave it to fate: để mặc số phận, để cuộc đời quyết định

5. What did you often do with your friends in your childhood? 

Back in the day, we used to play a lot of outdoor games like hide and seek and shuttlecock kicking. We also loved riding our bikes around the neighborhood and exploring new places. It was a lot of fun and really different from now, where we mostly hang out online. 

  • Hide and seek: trốn tìm

6. What do you think is the most important at the moment? 

At the moment, I think focusing on my studies and planning for my future career is the most important. I want to make sure I have a solid foundation to build on, so I’m trying to do well in my courses and also gain some practical experience through internships.

7. Do you have any plans for the next five years? 

Yes, I have a few plans. I hope to graduate from university and get a good job in my field. I also want to travel more and maybe study abroad for a bit to gain more international experience. And of course, I hope to stay healthy and happy along the way. 

8. How do people remember each stage of their lives? 

I think people remember each stage of their lives through memories, photos, and sometimes even through social media. For me, looking at old pictures and talking to friends and family about past experiences helps me remember the good times and the challenges I’ve overcome.
