PART 3

1. What habits should children have?

In my mind, the help a person can do takes a variety of forms, like giving advice to others, easing someone’s financial I reckon it really depends on their preferences. For active and energetic children, sports might be their thing, such as playing football, badminton, etc. On the other hand, for introverted/ shy kids, reading books is a good idea. However, I do believe that they should try many activities to find out what their true pastimes are. I think that’s how they can be more well-rounded as a person.

  • well-rounded (a): toàn diện
  • pastime (n): sở thích

2. What should parents do to teach their children good habits?

From my point of view, there are a number of things that help on the Internet that differ from those in reality. For The best way, in my opinion, is to be a model yourself. By doing so, your kids can look up to you and mirror your habits. Besides, parents should form healthy habits for their children as soon as possible. For example, in Vietnam, many moms and dads are trying to encourage their children to read early.

  • a model: tấm gương
  • mirror (v): bắt chước

3. What influences do children with bad habits have on other children?

Mostly negative influences I guess. First, kids are impressionable, so they tend to imitate their friends without knowing whether or not the habits are bad. Bullying at school is one of the examples, many kids actually think ít’s cool to be bullies. I mean, negative habits are very contagious so we as adults need to be really aware of that.

  • imitate (v): bắt chước
  • bully (v): bắt nạn
  • contagious (a): dễ lây

4. Why do some habits change when people get older?

There are many reasons. Maybe as people do sth over and over again, they get bored and they find other habits that are more interesting to refresh themselves. Maybe they love jogging, but after 5 or 6 years, they try swimming and think it’s more suitable. Another reason is health conditions, many habits are not for old people, so they might find other less physically demanding alternatives.

  • physically demanding (a): tốn sức
  • alternative (n): lựa chọn thay thế
