2. Bài mẫu
The maps illustrate the infrastructural, functional, and ornamental changes a public park has undergone between 1980 and the present day.
Overall, the most significant attempt to transform the park has been the removal of all boundaries, making the park blend in naturally with its surrounding neighborhood. Moreover, people coming into the park can now also enjoy more space and make use of family-oriented facilities.
In 1980, the public park was encased in four walls, shaping it into a rectangle. People could enter it from two gates, one to the north and the other to the west of the park. People coming in from the north gate could find themselves surrounded by two large bushes of flowers on either side of the path leading them into the park from the gate. The path then further extended to the other gate of the park in the west, constituting the only navigable route in the park for the visitors. From the west gate, a large pond with water sprinklers and benches on the bank could be found on people’s right as they walked in. Further to the east of the public park was a dense tree-covered area, inaccessible to the public.
In the present day, the park has experienced some significant structural modifications, with the biggest of which being the removal of all walls. This redesigning element can allow outsiders better visibility of the park and the new features it has been equipped with. Another noticeable change in infrastructure was how the main path has been divided into more paths leading the entry points to the south and the east of the park, enabling its visitors to walk around the park more freely and allowing the public more access to the premises.
Concerning the park’s functionalities, while the pond, its water sprinklers, and the benches around it have remained the same, the wooded area to the east of the park has now been cleared to make way for a family-prioritized zone, with three picnic tables, a barbecue spot, and some trees to provide shade during hot sunny days.
People entering the park from the north gate at the present can also notice a big shift in the way the park is ornamented. The two large floral bushes have been replaced with bushes to the left and a gathering area to the right of the gate. These changes, while securing more space for the park’s visitors, drastically reduce the visual appeal of the park’s northern area.
