2. Bài mẫu
Some individuals are of the opinion that animals should be treated with the same respect as humans and should not be exploited for human satisfaction. Others, nevertheless, suggest that when it comes to practical purposes such as food or scientific research, animals should be utilized by humans to achieve essential goals. In this essay, I will evaluate both schools of thought before proposing my own perspective on this matter.
On the one hand, there are compelling reasons why many advocate for the protection of animal rights. The primary argument is that animals are indispensable to the stability of the environment. The biological diversity of various species creates complex ecosystems that keep the world functioning properly; for instance, bees play a vital role in pollination, which directly supports global crop production and provides a solid foundation for human civilization. Because of this, humans should have the responsibility to treat them fairly and give them the rights they deserve. Consequently, practices that hinder the process or cause harm to animals should be restricted.
On the other hand, opponents of the previous view claim that animals are crucial for human development and must be employed to satisfy various practical needs. Firstly, many animal-based products are highly nutrient-dense, providing essential proteins and fats that are often harder to obtain in sufficient volumes from plant-based sources. Furthermore, the availability of livestock-based food is often more widespread across diverse geographical regions compared to certain vegetables, which are strictly limited by the requirement of a suitable climate. Additionally, many argue that it is more efficient and even morally acceptable to conduct research on animals to mitigate human risk. To thrive as a society, scientific innovation is necessary, yet every innovation carries inherent risks. By conducting research on animals with similar DNA to humans, such as hamsters, scientists can better understand and manage these risks before medical advancements are applied to the human population.
In conclusion, although there are mixed opinions regarding whether animals should be granted the same rights as humans, I believe that animals deserve protection, but their rights should not be identical to humans, and some carefully controlled uses can be justified when there is a significant human benefit. While preserving animal populations is crucial to maintain a well-rounded ecosystem, the necessity to accommodate human development through nutrition and medical research remains a priority, as animals provide indispensable biological and nutritional resources.
