2. Bài mẫu
Charitable organisations play a crucial role in alleviating suffering and addressing social inequalities. While some argue that such organisations should prioritise assisting people within their own countries, others contend that aid should be provided to those in need regardless of national borders. This essay will examine both viewpoints before arguing that international assistance is necessary in an increasingly globalised world.
On the one hand, there are several reasons why humanitarian organisations should prioritise assisting residents within their own countries. To begin with, geographical distance and regulatory hurdles may significantly reduce the efficiency of charitable efforts. The financial cost, time, and administrative coordination involved in international logistics, along with language barriers and cultural differences, can pose substantial obstacles to effective overseas intervention. Therefore, it is often more practical to allocate these resources to address domestic challenges and support disadvantaged citizens in need. In addition, some countries adopt an insular diplomatic stance, such as North Korea, or are subject to international sanctions, making it virtually impossible for voluntary organisations to operate effectively beyond their borders.
On the other hand, there are compelling reasons for charities to extend assistance beyond national boundaries. Providing aid to neighbouring or distant countries during times of crisis can significantly strengthen diplomatic relations and foster a more cohesive international community, in which states can rely on mutual trust and cooperation. Timely assistance, whether in the form of financial support, professional expertise, or humanitarian relief, can be crucial during periods of war, natural disasters, or economic instability. Moreover, in today’s highly interconnected world, refusing to offer help may isolate countries from the global community and limit opportunities for trade, technological exchange, and strategic collaboration. Most importantly, the world is currently facing global threats that affect not just a single country but virtually every society, including climate change, resource depletion, nuclear proliferation, and financial crises. Such complex and transnational challenges necessitate collective action, with each country contributing its resources and capabilities to ensure a sustainable future. Therefore, charitable organisations should extend support internationally whenever their capacity allows.
In conclusion, although focusing on domestic needs may enhance efficiency and accountability, restricting charitable efforts to national boundaries overlooks the interconnected nature of modern global challenges. Given that many crises transcend borders and require collective solutions, charitable organisations should extend assistance internationally whenever resources permit.
