  • And explain why he/she is important to you

1. Bài mẫu (Sample)

A good friend who is really important to me is my friend Minh, someone whose most prominent traits are curiosity and kindness. Minh is the kind of person who is never afraid to try new things, and being around them is always energizing and inspiring

What makes Minh so interesting is their boundless curiosity. They love exploring new hobbies and experiences — one week they’re taking drumming lessons, the next week they’re joining a drawing class. They always have a new book in hand, usually something thought-provoking. Recently, Minh ordered a book from Amazon that they’d been wanting for a long time. What impressed me most was that while waiting for the package, they even started learning about the international shipping process — how parcels are tracked and delivered to different countries. It’s like they can turn anything, even waiting for a delivery, into a learning experience.

Besides their curiosity, Minh is also deeply kind and emotionally mature. They treat everyone with respect and genuine care, and they’re one of the few people I know who actually take the time to study how relationships and communication work. They’ve read books and research about emotional intelligence and different communication styles, and they consciously try to apply what they’ve learned. I find that really admirable because they’re not just kind by nature — they actively work on being better at understanding others.

What I value most about Minh is how encouraging and reflective they are. Whenever I talk to them, I feel both understood and inspired. They make the people around them want to grow, and that’s such a rare quality. Honestly, it’s hard not to feel happy and motivated when you’re with someone like that.

Part 3:

1. How do children make friends at school?

Children usually make friends at school through shared activities such as playing games, studying together, or working on group assignments. At a young age, friendship often starts with simple interactions, like sitting next to each other or sharing lunch. Kids don’t think too much about background or personality — they just connect naturally through fun and cooperation

  • shared activities – hoạt động chung
  • simple interactions – tương tác đơn giản

2. How do children make friends when they are not at school?

Outside of school, children often make friends in extracurricular activities such as sports clubs, art classes, or neighborhood playgrounds. Nowadays, some kids even make friends online, through games or social media. However, I think face-to-face friendships are still more meaningful because they help children learn social skills and empathy.

  • extracurricular activities – hoạt động ngoại khóa
  • face-to-face friendships – tình bạn gặp gỡ trực tiếp
  • social skills – kỹ năng xã hội

3. Do you think it is better for children to have a few close friends or many casual friends?

I personally think it’s better for children to have a few close friends, because those relationships tend to be more trustworthy and long-lasting. Having many casual friends can be fun, but close friends are the ones who offer emotional support and share deeper connections, which are essential for a child’s growth.

  • trustworthy and long-lasting – đáng tin cậy và lâu dài
  • emotional support – sự hỗ trợ tinh thần

4. Do you think a child’s relationship with friends can be replaced by that with other people, like parents or other family members?

Not really. While parents and relatives provide love and guidance, friendships help children learn independence, teamwork, and conflict resolution. Friends are peers, so they offer a different kind of emotional bond that helps kids understand how to interact socially. Both relationships are important but serve different roles.

  • independence, teamwork, and conflict resolution – sự tự lập, làm việc nhóm, và giải quyết xung đột

5. What are the differences between friends made inside and outside the workplace?

Friends at work often share professional interests and see each other regularly, so the friendship might be based more on shared goals and teamwork. Friends outside the workplace, however, are usually chosen based on personal interests or emotional compatibility, so those relationships might feel more genuine and relaxed

6. Do you think it’s possible for bosses and their employees to become friends?

It’s possible, but it can be tricky. Friendship requires equality and openness, while a workplace relationship often involves authority and responsibility. If both sides can maintain professionalism and set clear boundaries, a friendship can develop. But in most cases, people prefer to keep things friendly but professional

  • professional interests – mối quan tâm nghề nghiệp
