Some people believe famous people’s support for international aid organizations draws attention to problems, while others think celebrities make the problem less important. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Yêu cầu đề bài: Thảo luận cả hai quan điểm:
- Người nổi tiếng có thể giúp thu hút sự chú ý của công chúng tới các vấn đề quốc tế.
- Tuy nhiên, họ cũng có thể khiến các vấn đề nghiêm trọng trở nên kém quan trọng hoặc bị đơn giản hóa.

1.3. Dàn bài chi tiết
- Mở bài: Paraphrase đề bài và nêu rằng mặc dù người nổi tiếng đôi khi có thể làm lu mờ vấn đề mà họ ủng hộ, tôi cho rằng sự tham gia của họ nhìn chung mang lại nhiều lợi ích hơn vì giúp các vấn đề quan trọng tiếp cận với nhiều người hơn.

- Thân bài 1: giải thích vì sao người nổi tiếng có thể khiến vấn đề bị xem nhẹ khi sự chú ý của truyền thông tập trung vào họ nhiều hơn là vào những người bị ảnh hưởng, đồng thời, một số người nổi tiếng có thể đơn giản hóa vấn đề do thiếu kiến thức chuyên sâu.
- Thân bài 2: giải thích vì sao người nổi tiếng có thể giúp nhiều người biết đến các vấn đề quốc tế hơn nhờ sức ảnh hưởng lớn, từ đó nâng cao nhận thức và khuyến khích công chúng quyên góp hoặc hành động.
- Kết bài: Khẳng định lại rằng mặc dù người nổi tiếng đôi khi có thể làm giảm tính nghiêm trọng của các vấn đề quốc tế, tôi cho rằng sự hỗ trợ của họ “does more good than harm” vì giúp các tổ chức viện trợ nâng cao nhận thức và nhận được nhiều sự ủng hộ hơn.
2. Bài mẫu
While one school of thought holds that celebrity support for international aid organisations can draw greater attention to global problems, others believe that famous people may make these issues seem less serious. Although both views have some merit, I believe that celebrity involvement is generally beneficial because it helps important causes reach a much wider audience.
On the one hand, supporters of the latter view often argue that celebrities can take attention away from the problems they are trying to promote. The media may focus more on the famous person than on the people who are actually suffering. For example, when a well-known actor visits a refugee camp, newspapers and social media may pay more attention to the actor’s appearance or activities than to the reasons why people have been forced to leave their homes. As a result, a serious humanitarian problem may be treated as a short-lived news story rather than an issue that deserves deeper understanding. In addition, some celebrities may not have enough knowledge about the causes they support, so they may present complicated problems in an overly simple way or even inaccurate way.
However, I believe celebrities can play an important role in raising public awareness of international problems. Famous people often have millions of followers on social media, allowing them to reach far more people than many aid organisations could on their own. When they speak about issues such as famine, war or disease, they can encourage their followers not only to learn more about these problems but also to donate money or take action. For instance, if a respected celebrity draws attention to a humanitarian crisis that has received little media coverage, many people may become aware of it for the first time. Therefore, as long as celebrities use their influence responsibly and keep the focus on the cause itself, their involvement can make a real difference.
In conclusion, although famous people can sometimes distract attention from serious international problems, I believe their support does more good than harm. If used properly, celebrity influence can help aid organisations raise awareness and gain greater public support.
