2. Bài mẫu
There is no disputing that the population levels of cities produce both positive and negative effects on the areas and their people. In recent times, the number of inhabitants of mega-cities are on the rise. I believe this would be a positive development if the urban centers are built right.
The major benefits of megalopolises becoming increasingly populous are additional prosperity for them and better access to essential amenities for the residents. Megalopolises would prosper further because the growing population size means a larger talent pool, whose collective intelligence would boost productivity. For instance, when engineers producing different top-tier e-vehicle components live in the same mega-cities and manufacture together, the quality of the complete vehicles would be optimized. Regarding the increased accessibility of much-needed services, mega-city dwellers could find a greater number of places offering the services in their surroundings, which are to keep up with the rising population. The availability of places for essential services can improve their ease of access, and, by extension, people’s wellbeing, such as being able to receive timely medical treatments.
While the problems associated with mega-cities are many, I believe that they can be solved. Take Singapore as an example. By building extensive and efficient mass transit networks in conjunction with making the use of private vehicles prohibitively expensive, the city has managed to keep its traffic flowing continuously. Singapore also has a clean reputation, deterring littering on the streets by measures such as installing ongoing AI-powered surveillance cameras and imposing hefty fines on offenders. Importantly, Singapore is noted as being most successful in the world in terms of providing affordable housing to the population thanks to the efforts of the city in massively increasing the supply, requiring the people to save money, and providing subsidies for purchasing homes. The successes of Singapore in preventing traffic congestion, pollution and unaffordable housing indicate that mega-cities can overcome their problems with effective urban designs and policies.
In conclusion, the trend of increasingly more people living in very large cities can result in various significant positive and negative impacts. I believe that the increasing population would be for the positive provided that the cities have sound designs and policies.
