1. Bài mẫu (Sample)
One outdoor dangerous sport that I would be really eager to try for the first time is bungee jumping. It’s an extreme activity where people jump from a tall structure with an elastic rope tied to their ankles to stop them from hitting the ground, giving them the thrill of free fall before bouncing back up. The tall structures are usually buildings, bridges, cranes or even waterfalls. It looks nerve-racking for sure, but that would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
If I ever get the chance, I’d love to do it in Nha Trang, one of the most famous coastal cities in Vietnam. I’ve read that some tour operators there are starting to organise adventure sports, including bungee jumping from platforms overlooking the sea. Just imagining myself diving into the air with the turquoise ocean below and the white beach stretching along the coastline gives me goosebumps. The scenery of Nha Trang is absolutely breathtaking with sparkling waves, endless horizon, and the fresh sea breeze would make the jump feel even more surreal.
I think I’d prefer to go with a few close friends who are equally adventurous. Sharing the fear and excitement with them would give me more courage, and afterwards, we need someone close to celebrate the first time we overcome acrophobia, fear of heights.
Why would I want to commit suicide, well, try bungee jumping? well, I see it as a way to push my limits and step outside my comfort zone, try something I have never tried before. I’ve always admired people who dare to embrace thrilling experiences, and I want to test my own courage too. On top of that, it should be a truly unforgettable memory, something I can recall and tell my grandchildren.
So, bungee jumping in Nha Trang is definitely something I hope to tick off my bucket list in the near future.

Part 3:
1. What are the differences between indoor sports and outdoor sports?
Well, the most obvious difference is the environment. Indoor sports are usually played in controlled spaces, so they aren’t affected by weather conditions while outdoor sports rely heavily on natural surroundings, which means that we can’t play football in heavy snow or a storm. It is also my belief that we need to be significantly more careful and prepared before taking part in any physical activities outdoors, like applying sunscreen, wearing light breathable clothes, and bringing water and snacks.
2. What outdoor sports are popular in Vietnam?
Definitely football, as you can see kids and adults playing it almost everywhere, from schoolyards to empty lots, simply because it is accessible for everyone, all we need is a bunch of friends and a ball. Apart from that, people enjoy badminton, cycling, and jogging, especially for the elderly. Last, in recent years, more adventurous activities such as trekking, car racing or diving have also been gaining popularity among young people who want an adrenaline rush.
- an adrenaline rush: cảm giác phấn khích tràn đầy năng lượng đột ngột
3. What sports are popular among elderly people?
These people often choose more gentle sports. For example, many seniors practice tai chi in the parks early in the morning, as it helps improve balance and flexibility. Walking and light jogging are also quite common as these activities are accessible with little to no special equipment while they still offer various health benefits. These activities don’t require too much energy but still allow them to stay active and socialise with others.
- senior: người già
- tai chi: Thái Cực quyền
4. Which outdoor sports are popular with children?
Children in Vietnam usually prefer football and basketball, since these sports are easy to play and don’t require expensive equipment. They help to improve children’s height as well. In coastal areas, some kids also take up swimming from an early age as parents believe it’s an essential survival skill.
- survival skill: kỹ năng sinh tồn
5. How does weather affect outdoor sports?
It’s obvious that we can only play sports when the weather allows it, and extreme weather conditions can prevent these events from taking place. For instance, in Vietnam’s rainy season, football matches often get canceled, and people avoid jogging outside because of flooding or slippery roads. It’s really dangerous for sports players when they may slip and experience fatal accidents like sprains, bone fractures or concussions. Temperatures also matter. if it’s too hot, people might risk dehydration, while cold or windy conditions can reduce motivation and even increase the chance of injury. On the other hand, sunny weather encourages water sports like swimming, surfing, or rowing.
- fatal accidents: tai nạn chết người
- sprains: bong gân
- bone fractures: gãy xương
- concussions: chấn thương sọ não
- rowing: chèo thuyền
6. Which is more dangerous, team sports or individual sports?
That’s an interesting question. I’d say both have their risks, but in different ways. Team sports, like football or hockey, often involve physical contact, which can lead to injuries such as sprains or concussions. Individual sports, like rock climbing or bungee jumping, don’t usually involve collisions with other people, but they can be more dangerous because a single mistake might put you in serious danger. The consequences of these accidents tend to be more severe and the worst part is that when playing sports alone, we can’t get immediate medical support as we usually have no one around.
- collisions: va chạm
