Infrastructure-related issues have been documented to be surging in various urban regions, affecting traffic and people’s living conditions. As a result, government officials have encouraged expansion and relocation of business towards rural regions. From my perspective, this suggestion offers more benefits in the long run, compared to certain perceived drawbacks. This essay will provide both aspects of the topic, and provide critical evaluation to support the stated opinion.

It is acknowledged relocation of business to less populated areas might initially bring about certain challenges. To start with, when firms decide to move to farther regions of the city, they tend to experience a loss of employees or lack of human resources in the new area. Established employees in the firm may struggle with the change of location, due to personal reasons related to family, or a perceived dislike towards less populated areas as they bring less business opportunities. Moreover, new hires in rural areas are often recorded to be fewer than those in urban areas, and their academic prowess and career experience are generally proven to be inferior. Consequently, these factors affect the progress of companies that choose to relocate to more remote regions. Another disadvantage to moving employees to the outskirts is the potential overhead businesses ought to consider. This overhead includes rent for long-term stay, transportation fees, relocation fees for families, and higher salaries to ensure longer work commitment. According to research from business leaders, a sudden change of location brings about these aforementioned overhead fees for a single employee, and carelessness towards these aspects potentially leads to ligitation. Therefore, for companies that decide to move, they need to consider a myriad of conditions that allow their employees to move with them.

On the other hand, in the long run, this move might offer several boons, in terms of economic stability, solving population density issues, and substantial infrastructural development of rural regions. First of all, businesses provide economic diversity and stability to rural areas. With the move of companies being sanctioned by the government, it is expected that proper assistance and supervision from the authorities. This means that business are encouraged to develop and thrive, which provides stability to the region. While struggles with human resources may initially occur, rural areas invested by numerous business will eventually solve these issues, and looking long term, it is often documented that the areas will thrive economically. Numerous examples of rural cities being developed to become giant economic regions include Phu Quoc, Las Vegas, Monte Carlo, and Hawaii, all of which were small towns having been boosted to international tourist destinations and booming economic regions primarily funded by locals and giant conglomerates. Secondly, expansion to less populated regions solve the population density crisis. It is recorded that cities with high population densities due to a lack of business or living opportunities in surrounding areas. With the assistance of the government, and the aforementioned economical boons provided by relocation of business, people could eventually realize the opportunity to live and thrive in new regions. This also reduces traffic congestions and accomodation issues. For example, Ho Chi Minh City is recorded to have the highest population density in Vietnam, in which nearly 5,000 people live in a shared square kilometer, leading to rise in traffic accidents, housing crisis, eventually a surge in crime rates. The government addressed these issues by allowing businesses to invest in other areas such as Binh Duong and Go Vap. As a result, Ho Chi Minh City has been expanded into an entire economic region, and people can move to Binh Duong and Go Vap and expect similar salary range

In conclusion, while relocations of business require initial struggles related to human resources and incur overheads, the long term advantages related to economic development, stabilizing the population, and potential connected infrastructure on a nation-wide scale, prove that the governments’ encouragement is sound. With hope, urban or economic development will occur on a more balanced scale, which ensures stable development of a country in the long run.
