Is it just youngsters who like to try new things, or do people of your parents’ age also like to try new things?
Is a great tourist destination also a good place to live?
Why do people who go to live in small towns think these towns are more interesting than the big cities?

1. How can people access travel information?

Well these days, getting travel information can be as simple as a quick search on the Internet, where you can find websites, blogs, and forums dedicated to travel advice and tips. Having said that, I think there’s a growing trend where many young people turn to social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook for insights and recommendations from fellow travelers

  • Insights: thông tin/kiến thức chuyên sâu
  • fellow travelers: những người cùng (sở thích) du lịch

2. Do people have different personalities in different regions of your country?

To some extent, yes. I guess factors such as local history and geographical location contribute to these differences. For example, those in the bustling cities like Ho Chi Minh City may seem more fast-paced and entrepreneurial, while people in rural areas like the Mekong Delta might be perceived as more laid-back and community-oriented

  • geographical location: vị trí địa lý
  • Entrepreneurial: tinh thần kinh doanh
  • laid-back: nhàn nhã
  • community-oriented: hướng về cộng đồng

3. What causes the differences between different regions of your country?

As I’ve mentioned earlier, the differences between regions in Vietnam are probably caused by a combination of historical and geographical factors. Historical events, such as wars and invasions, could have shaped the identities of a province. What’s more, geographic features like mountains, rivers, and coastlines can influence people’s lifestyle and livelihoods. These might lead to variations in customs and personality traits.

  • Invasion: cuộc xâm lăng
  • Livelihood: kế sinh nhai
  • Customs: phong tục

4. Is it just youngsters who like to try new things, or do people of your parents’ age also like to try new things?

I don’t think it’s just youngsters who enjoy trying new things; I’ve seen people in their 40s or 50s and still embrace novelty. While younger generations may be more adventurous and open to new technological advancements, older folks might be more into exploring new hobbies, cuisines, or social activities.

  • Novelty: sự mới mẻ

5. Is a great tourist destination also a good place to live?

Not necessarily, to be honest. Although a nice tourist destination may offer beautiful scenery and a good range of entertainment options, whether it’s a good place to live depends on various factors. Things such as cost of living, job opportunities, and healthcare play crucial roles in determining a place’s livability

  • Livability: khả năng sống được

6. Why do people who go to live in small towns think these towns are more interesting than the big cities?

Well from what I can see, people who opt for small-town living often appreciate its slower pace of life and closer connection to nature. Firstly, in small towns, life often moves at a more relaxed and leisurely pace compared to bustling cities. There’s less rush hour traffic, fewer crowds, and generally less urgency in daily activities. On top of that, rural residents have easier access to nature. This allows for outdoor activities, relaxation, and a deeper connection with the natural world, which can be rejuvenating and spiritually fulfilling

  • Slower pace of life: nhịp sống chậm hơn
  • Urgency: tính khẩn cấp
  • Rejuvenating: giúp trẻ hoá
  • Spiritually fulfilling: thoả mãn về tinh thần
