1. Do people have enough places to relax in your country?

Well, it depends on the areas and personal preference. In urban areas with vibrant lifestyle, there are tons of recreational parks, shopping malls and rooftop bars to unwind. On the other hand, rural lifestyle offers different ways of relaxation with fresh air and tranquil atmosphere. Overall, the availability of places relies on the living areas and what is considered as relaxing.

  • vibrant lifestyle: lỗi sống sôi động
  • recreational park: công viên giải trí
  • unwind: thư giãn

2. What do people usually do when they are relaxed?

There are various activities to engage in. It can be as simple as taking a power nap, socializing with friends and having a picnic in a nearby park. Some might prefer challenging themselves as a way to relax by an intense workout or signing up for a marathon.

  • take a nạp: chợp mắt
  • socialize: nói chuyện
  • sign up for: đăng ký tham gia

3. Is physical activity good for relaxation?

Of course it is. I once read a study that associate exercising with the reduction of stress hormones which stimulate the relaxation. There is always a link between physical and mental health so I believe they both help improve each other and foster overall well-being.

  • overall well-being: sự khoẻ mạnh toàn diện

4. Do you think that spending time in front of a screen helps people relax?

Yes, I believe so but it will be beneficial to a certain extend. On the one hand, it is quite a common way for both children and adults to let off steam these days via a variety of televised programs, computerized games and active social media platforms. On the other hand, spending a long period of time on electronic devices might lead to eye strain and fatigue.

  • let off steam: thư giãn
  • eye strain: mỏi mắt
  • fatigue: mệt mỏi

5. Do people have to spend a lot of money to relax?

From my point of view, it is not necessary to invest a large amount of money on relaxation activities. Instead, some activities are offered free of charge or just for a small amount of money such as hanging out in natural reserves, listening to music and taking part in a social work-out club. There might be other ways to de-stress that would cost much more higher but this should be up to both personal demands and financial conditions.

  • de-stress: thư giãn

6. Do people nowadays have more ways to relax than in the past?

Absolutely, especially with the emergence of technological advances. People nowadays experience a tendency of letting their hair down via online recreation activities such as browsing social media and make some online purchases. However, some still maintain the traditional habits like conducting face-to-face conversations or go on a holiday to escape from the hectic life.

  • let’s one’s hair down: thư giãn
  • escape from the hectic life: thoát khỏi cuộc sống bận rộn
