1. What kind of customer service do you think is good?

I think the defining characteristic of quality customer services is bona-fide empathy. This is because only this quality would drive customer service personnel to go out of their way to assist and delight customers, both for during and after-sale periods. All the employees at the retail store Winmart I said in part 2 live by this value, so I know that I am in great hands shopping there.

  • To be in great hands (idiom): được chăm sóc tốt (đặc biệt với dịch vụ)

2. What are the differences between shopping online and in-store?

The first distinction for me is in the location, as shopping offline requires buyers to make a round trip to the brick-and-mortar stores, while online shopping can be done from the comfort of one’s house. Also, only the former enables customers to physically inspect their purchased items.

3. What problems do customers often have while shopping?

One problem customers experience while shopping is that the product functions in a less desirable way than advertised. Another issue is the late delivery, which can be due to both subjective and objective reasons. Last year, many Vietnamese ordering clothes from overseas were met with hold-ups up to months because of covid-19 border closures.

4. What do you think customers should do when there are problems with products bought online?

I think the foremost step is to review the service-providing companies’ policies on quality assurance to know what rights the end users are entitled to, say how much remedies like repairs, replacement, refund and compensation they can claim from their unhappy experience. Once customers have got this down, they need to take out proofs of purchases, like receipts, and take them to the companies to authenticate complaints and hold them accountable.
