- Citizens pay taxes. Governments are elected to improve domestic services. Excessive foreign aid may create dissatisfaction among voters.

- Poverty, unemployment and rising living costs remain major concerns. Resources should be allocated where they can generate immediate benefits.
Body Paragraph 2
- Main Idea 1: Humanitarian crises require international support.
- Wars, natural disasters and famines often exceed a country’s capacity. External assistance can save lives.
- Main Idea 2: International aid can also benefit donor countries.
- Global issues cross national borders. Cooperation helps reduce future risks such as pandemics and instability.

- A balanced approach that combines national priorities with global cooperation is the most practical solution.
2. Bài mẫu
It is often argued that because it is impossible to help everyone in the world, governments should focus their efforts on their own citizens. While I agree that national governments have a primary duty to look after their domestic population, I do not believe they should ignore people in other countries entirely.
On the one hand, governments should prioritize the needs of their own citizens. The first reason is that public money comes largely from taxpayers, who expect it to be used to improve services and living standards within their own country. If governments spend too much on international aid while local schools, hospitals, and transport systems remain underdeveloped, citizens may feel that their interests are being neglected. Another reason is that many countries continue to face serious domestic challenges such as poverty, unemployment, and rising living costs. In these circumstances, directing resources towards solving national problems is likely to bring more immediate and measurable benefits to the population and contribute to long-term social stability.
On the other hand, I disagree that governments should focus exclusively on their own countries. One important reason is that humanitarian crises such as wars, famines, and natural disasters often require support from the international community. Wealthier nations are frequently in a position to provide financial assistance, emergency supplies, and medical aid that can save lives. Moreover, helping other countries can also serve a nation’s long-term interests. In today’s interconnected world, issues such as climate change, infectious diseases, and political instability can easily spread across borders. By contributing to global solutions, governments can promote international security and reduce potential threats that may eventually affect their own citizens.
In conclusion, although governments should prioritize the well-being of their own people, I do not believe they should concentrate solely on domestic issues. Instead, they should adopt a balanced approach that addresses national needs while continuing to support international efforts when necessary.
