Câu trả lời mẫu (Sample Answer)
1. Do you usually help people around you?
Sadly, not too frequently. It’s not because I’m a selfish person but it’s more likely that I don’t have many opportunitíe to offer my assistance. However, being a teacher, helping my students is still an indispensable part of my job. It could be anything, from helping them with academic knowledge to social life, which may sound kind of serious but it’s not as big as it seems. It’s negligible.
- selfish (adj): ích kỷ
- Indispensable (adj): không thể thiếu
- Academic knowledge: kiến thức học thuật
- Negligible (adj): không đáng kể
2. How do you help people around you, such as neighbors, family and friends?
It depends on the problem that they are encountering. For emotional ones, all I need to do is be a good listener so people can have a chance to confide in me. And if it’s possible, I will try to provide verbal encouragement or incentivize them. Or sometimes, I can help my friends by offering them financial support and I’m really glad to do so.
- Confide in somebody: tâm sự với một ai đó
- Verbal encouragement: sự động viên bằng lời nói
- Incentivize (v): khuyến khích
- Financial support: hỗ trợ về vấn đề tài chính
3. Do your parents teach you how to help others?
Of course. “Sharing is caring” is what parents always say, and mine is not an exception. They have always raised me as a caring person, paying attention to other people and they have been good role models as well. My mom never hesitates to help another person when they are in need, which is really admirable and I always try to learn that from her.
- Role models (n): hình mẫu
- Hesitate (v): do dự
- Admirable (adj): đáng ngưỡng mộ
4. Did your parents help you a lot when you were young?
All the time. My parents were always there and rooting for me. When I was in elementary school, my mother used to patiently teach me how to solve my homework every night. My dad’s always given me words of wisdom for any milestone in my life, such as which college I should apply to, or which job I should take. For that, I can’t be thankful enough for what my parents have done for me.
- Root for somebody (v): cổ vũ, động viên ai đó
- Milestone (N): cột mốc quan trọng
- Thankful (adj): biết ơn
5. What have you done to help the elderly?
It’s a shame that I haven’t done much for the elders. If I had more chances in the future, I would try participating in more charitable activities. I have seen many young people set up some kind of endowment offering financial aid for those in need. Moreover, they also organize free healthcare programs for senior citizens via giving medicine or hosting sport events like marathons, which can improve physical and mental well-being.
- Endowment (n): quyên trợ
- Healthcare program (n): chương trình chăm sóc sức khỏe
- Senior citizens (n): công dân lớn tuổi
- Physical and mental well-being: sức khỏe thể chất và tinh thần
