Câu trả lời mẫu (Sample Answer) Leisure Time IELTS Speaking Part 3
1. Do people like to spend their leisure time out in your country?
I think it’s a matter of personal preference, a lot of people would definitely opt for outdoor activities as their recreational pursuits. But at the same time, many would prefer to stay inside to avoid the dirt and dust. Also, the weather would be a significant contributor to people’s choice of pastimes. If it rains too heavily or the sunlight is too glaring then a lot of folks would definitely not go outside.
- a matter of personal preference: vấn đề sở thích cá nhân
- recreational pursuits: theo đuổi giải trí
- pastimes: trò giải trí
2. How do people spend their leisure time in your country?
Well, the leisure and recreational activities in my country vary greatly between different age demographics, social classes, genders and even localities. However, there are some pastimes that are more famous than others. For indoor amusements, watching TV, going to cinemas, surfing social networks or playing video games are quite common. Meanwhile, hanging in the park or by the lake, going to coffeeshops and playing sports like football are some popular outdoor leisure pursuits.

3. How does technology affect the way people spend their leisure time?
It has had an immense impact on how we entertain, to my mind. Back in the days, people had a very limited number of options for indoor recreations, music, dancing or reading are the only pastimes I could think of. Now with the development of technology like video games, social network, TVs, Netflix, etc. people have endless choices of pastimes they could do inside, which makes people become more idle and passive when it comes to having fun.
- Back in the days: Quay trở lại những ngày
- idle: nhàn rỗi
- when it comes to: khi điều đó đến
4. Do you think only old people have time for leisure?
I definitely do not think so, I think people from all age demographics can and should have leisure time. It is scientifically proven that resting and relaxing is crucial for productivity and efficiency. Our bodies and minds need time to unwind and do the things we love, as those moments of enjoyment would alleviate stress and help us recover if we burned out. Some might say they are so occupied with tasks that they don’t have time to entertain, I think it’s a matter of priority. If we acknowledge the importance of leisure time to our health and our work or study, we will find ways to add that into our schedule.
- age demographics: nhân khẩu học về tuổi
- unwind: thư giãn
- alleviate: làm giảm bớt
- occupied with: bị chiếm bởi
