Câu trả lời mẫu (Sample Answer)
1. Do you agree that we learn best from our mistakes?
Absolutely, I think mistakes are some of the best teachers. When I was in university, I once failed an important assignment because I underestimated the effort it needed. It was embarrassing, but it pushed me to plan better and take deadlines seriously. The sting of failure made the lesson unforgettable.
- Embarrassing: xấu hổ
- Underestimate: đánh giá thấp
- Effort: nỗ lực
- Unforgettable: không thể quên được
2. What’s the best way to gain experience in life? Why is it so?
In my opinion, the best way is to step out of your comfort zone and try new things. For example, when I started teaching, I was nervous about handling difficult students, but facing those challenges head-on taught me how to manage a classroom effectively. Real-life experiences teach us things no textbook ever could.
- Step out of your comfort zone: bước ra khỏi vùng an toàn
- Challenge: thử thách
3. Can we gain life experience from books and movies? Why/Why not?
To some extent, yes. Books and movies can expose us to ideas, emotions, and cultures we might not experience firsthand. For instance, reading about different perspectives in novels has made me more empathetic. But, of course, they’re no substitute for actually living through something. Watching a movie about hiking is different from climbing a mountain yourself.
- Firsthand: trực tiếp
- Expose: tiếp xúc
- Perspective: quan điểm, góc nhìn
- Empathetic: đồng cảm
- Substitute: sự thay thế
4. Which is more important, experience or potential? Why?
It’s a tough choice, but I’d say potential. Experience is valuable, but potential represents what someone can achieve in the future. For example, when I mentor younger teachers, I look for those who are willing to learn and grow, even if they’re inexperienced. It’s their mindset and determination that matter most.
- Valuable: có giá trị
- Mindset: tư duy
- Determination: sự quyết tâm
5. What experience do you wish you had gained? Why do you think so?
I wish I had studied abroad during university. Experiencing a new culture and education system would have broadened my perspectives and improved my language skills. It’s something I encourage my students to consider now, as it’s a life-changing opportunity.
- Broaden: mở rộng
- Perspective: tầm nhìn, quan điểm
- Life-changing: thay đổi cuộc đời

6. Why do some people fail to learn from their experience?
I think it’s often because they don’t reflect on what happened. If someone keeps making the same mistakes, it might be because they’re too proud or too afraid to admit they were wrong. Reflection and humility are key to learning from both successes and failures.
- Reflect on: suy ngẫm về
- Proud: tự hào
- Humility: sự khiêm tốn
