Modern technology is changing our world. This has advantages such as bringing people closer together through communication. It also has disadvantages such as destroying the differences between cultures. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

2. Bài mẫu
Opinions are divided over whether advances in digital technology have strengthened connections across geographical boundaries at the expense of cultural diversity. While I agree that these developments have made long-distance interaction far more immediate and accessible, I do not believe that they are causing distinctive cultural identities to disappear.
Admittedly, technology has made it far easier for people to maintain meaningful relationships across geographical boundaries. Before the development of digital communication, those living in different countries had to depend on letters, costly international calls, and occasional face-to-face visits, meaning that contact was often slow and infrequent. This is no longer the case today, when messaging applications and video-conferencing platforms allow people to communicate instantly and share everyday experiences in real time. A migrant worker, for example, can speak to family members at home every evening and remain closely involved in their lives despite being thousands of kilometres away. Technology has therefore made it possible to sustain close personal relationships regardless of the geographical distance between people.
Nevertheless, just because people use the same platforms and consume some of the same cultural products does not mean that their cultures become indistinguishable. While it is true that global media exposes societies to similar music, fashion and entertainment, claiming that this destroys cultural differences confuses cultural change with cultural extinction. The global popularity of hip-hop, for instance, has not produced identical music everywhere, but has instead encouraged artists to reinterpret the genre through their own languages, instruments and social experiences. On top of that, digital technology can serve as a powerful preservation tool, allowing communities to record endangered languages, archive traditional performances and pass local customs on to younger generations. Without these digital resources, much of this heritage might receive little public exposure and eventually fade into oblivion.
In conclusion, modern technology has unquestionably drawn people closer by making long-distance communication immediate, affordable and continuous. However, it does not eliminate cultural differences; rather, it enables cultures to absorb global influences while preserving, adapting and renewing their distinctive identities.
In conclusion, although financial privilege and appearance can open doors to certain opportunities, I am convinced that only when individuals make the most of such opportunities with hard work and resilience can they achieve genuine and sustainable success.
