2. Bài mẫu

It is suggested by numerous medical experts that the elderly remain physically active. However, the majority do not take heed of this advice. This essay aims to provide causes to the phenomenon, and offer methods to tackle the problem.

There are direct and underlying factors that influence the elderly’s reluctance to commit to physical exercise. For one, it can be seen that old people do not have a good constitution and well-being, compared to younger age ranges. Due to inevitable senescence, health issues are found to occur more frequently and leave behind more damaging impacts on older individuals. This is the reason why they feel hesitant to take up exercising, as a few mistakes can tremendously affect their body in indescribable ways. Official health research documents claim that old people are more prone to exercise-related accidents, often resulting in higher mortality rates, which further frightens them from regular exercises. Additionally, ageism might be an indirect factor. Areas that promote physical exercise such as gymnasiums, training studios, and sports centers, are found to cater more to adolescents and adults, housing equipment that is not user-friendly to the elderly. Adding aforementioned health issues and lack of guarantee or insurance from training areas, they are generally discouraged from participating in heavy physical exercises; furthermore, with no elderly-centric places to work out, they are not incentivized to take up exercising. For example, numerous gymnasiums tend to steer physical trainers away from helping older individuals due to their fragility, and instead, focusing on younger individuals to undergo training. As a result of this focus on youth, old people might perceive themselves to be physically and socially disincentivized to exercise regularly.

There are several solutions that can tackle this problem. To begin with, doctors can recommend nutritious diets that can accompany exercises. After frequent doctor visits are generally common for old people, geriatricians should be cognizant of their patients’ conditions, constitutional limitations, and dietary needs; thus, they can offer the types of exercises and the type of nutrient that older people can have. This is something that more hospitals are actively developing, which will help the elderly to improve their later life. Another solution can be found in the government, in cooperation with the medical community, encouraging the establishment of physical training centers that specifically cater to geriatrics. Different from physical therapy centers or nursing homes, this will be more similar to gymnasiums that hire health professionals and physical trainers to focus on maintaining and improving the well-being of older individuals. Those with prior health conditions will be assessed with due process; however, older people with normal health are allowed to join, and take up regular exercises with the help of capable trainers.

In summary, limited constitution and perceived ignorance from physical training centers serve as deterrence for old people who want to exercise regularly. To combat this issue, it is recommended that doctors become aware of their needs, and the government provides an encouraging physical training environment that caters to what they want.
