Cấu trúc This is the first time có ý nghĩa ra sao?
“This is the first time” có thể hiểu một cách đơn giản là “đây là lần đầu tiên”. Cụm từ này được cố định để chủ ngữ làm một việc gì đó. Ngoài cấu trúc This is the first time, ta còn có thể sử dụng cấu trúc “It is the first time” mà không làm thay đổi ý nghĩa của nó.
Ví dụ:
- This is the first time I have had a vacation with my family to Dalat. (Đây là lần đầu tiên tôi có kì nghỉ cùng gia đình đến Đà Lạt.)
- This is his first time doing this job. (Đây là lần đầu tiên anh ấy làm công việc này.)
- This is my first time meeting her. (Đây là lần đầu tiên tôi được gặp cô ấy.)
Sử dụng cấu trúc This is the first time trong tiếng anh
Cấu trúc This is the first time được dùng trong ngữ cảnh diễn tả một sự vật, hiện tượng bạn chưa từng gặp hoặc trải qua, đây là lần đầu tiên từ trước đến giờ của ai đó làm một việc gì đó.
This is the first time + S + have/has + P2
Ví dụ:
- This is the first time I’ve eaten such delicious seafood. (Đây là lần đầu tiên tôi được ăn món ăn chế biến từ hải sản ngon như vậy.)
→ Hoặc: It is the first time I’ve eaten such delicious seafood.
- I’ve never eaten such delicious seafood before. (Tôi chưa bao giờ ăn món ăn chế biến từ hải sản ngon như vậy trước đây.)
→ Hoặc: I hadn’t eaten such delicious seafood before
- This is the first time I have met Peter. (Đây là lần đầu tiên tôi gặp Peter.)
→ I have never met Peter before.
→ I haven’t met Peter before. (Tôi chưa bao giờ gặp Peter trước đây.)
Những lưu ý khi sử dụng
Ngoài tính từ “First” được sử dụng trong cấu trúc This is the first time ta có thể sử dụng các từ như “second”, “Third”… trong cấu trúc.
Ví dụ:
- This is my second time visiting your house. (Đây là lần thứ hai tôi được thăm nhà bạn.)
- This is my fourth time revisiting this movie. It’s so good that I can remember every little detail. (Đây là lần thứ tư tôi xem lại bộ phim này. Nó hay đến nỗi tôi có thể nhớ đến từng chi tiết nhỏ.)
Các cụm từ đồng nghĩa với cấu trúc “This is the first time”
Công thức tương đương
Cấu trúc The first time cũng có ý nghĩa tương đương nhưng ở dạng rút gọn hơn:
The first time + S + Verb (Past), S + have/has + P2
Ví dụ: The first time he joined the competition, he had won the prize. (Lần đầu anh ấy tham dự cuộc thi, anh ấy đã thắng giải)
Sử dụng “It is the first time”
It is the first time + S + have/has + P2
(Có nghĩa là lần đầu tiên làm gì)
Ví dụ: This is the first time she has got a perfect score = It is the first time she has got a perfect score.
→ Đây là lần đầu tiên cô đạt điểm tuyệt đối
Sử dụng từ “ever”
Từ “ever” được dùng trong thì hiện tại hoàn thành nó có thể được đặt trước động từ hoặc đặt ở cuối câu (đứng riêng hoặc trước từ “before”).
Ví dụ: I have never ever told anyone a lie = I have never told anyone a lie, ever = I haven’t told anyone a lie ever before.
→ Từ trước đến nay tôi có nói dối ai bao giờ.
Sử dụng Before (trước đó)
S + have/has + never + P2 + before
S + have/has not + P2 + before
Ví dụ:
- This is the first time I have been to France. (Đây là lần đầu tiên tôi đến Pháp.)
-> I have not been to France before. (Tôi chưa từng đến Pháp trước đây.)
Sử dụng “Never”
S + have/has + never + P2 (PP) + before (Ai đó chưa bao giờ làm gì đó)
Ví dụ:
This is Linda’s first time eating Japanese food. (Đây là lần đầu tiên Linda được ăn đồ nhật bản.)
→ Linda has never eaten Japanese food before. (Linda chưa bao giờ ăn đồ Nhật Bản trước đây.)
