First of all, I must say that I am a self-described avid reader. I mean I have read a lot of books and I took enormous enjoyment in reading them. However, the book that left the most profound impression on me was The Hunger Games and I’d like to tell you about it.
The Hunger Games is a series of young adult dystopian novels penned by American author Suzanne Collins. She’s widely regarded as one of the most incredibly talented novel writers in the world. The novel is set in a future dystopian North America and revolves around the protagonist – Katniss Everdeen. A 16-year-old from a poor, coal mining community. She along with 23 other children are selected at random to participate in a televised death match. In that, they are forced to brutally murder one another until only one is left standing.The book received so much international fame that it was soon after adapted into a popular film series. And it came as no surprise that its film adaptation enjoyed enormous commercial success upon its release.I really enjoyed being immersed in the science fiction world that Collins creates. The plot is amazing, the acting skills are on-point, the sound effects are top-notch. All in all, I believe this is probably one of the most engaging and riveting reads I’ve ever had.

1. What kind of books do children like?
Well, I suppose that the majority of children are fascinated with fairy tales, which are full of miracles and imaginary creatures. You know, kids like to let their imagination run wild and immerse themselves in the enchanting, mysterious world when reading this kind of book. Many children also dote on folk stories because of the meaningful messages they convey, which generally encourage the young to be kind and empathetic.

2. What should parents do to encourage their children to read books?
Well, as far as I’m concerned, there are various ways for parents to spark their children’s interest in books. One of the fantastic ways is to read books to them. I think it could be a great head start for children to improve their reading later in life. And it also helps strengthen the bond between the kids and their parents. Another ideal way is to take them to a book street, where a wide range of books can be found. You know, children can just wander along the street to unwind and browse through the stores at the same time.
(Theo tôi thì có rất nhiều cách bố mẹ có thể khơi dậy hứng thú đọc sách cho con. Một trong những cách rất tuyệt vời là đọc sách cho chúng. 3. Why do adults still have to read books?
I reckon that learning is a process of a lifetime and people have an insatiable thirst for knowledge. Reading is not only a natural stress reliever but also enriches one’s knowledge and spiritual life. That’s why I think people of all ages should keep reading as many books as possible.
(Tôi cho rằng học là chuyện cả đời và con người thì luôn có đam mê không bao giờ là đủ đối với tri thức. Đọc sách không những giúp giải tỏa stress mà còn làm giàu thêm kiến thức và cuộc sống tinh thần của một người. Đấy là lý do tôi nghĩ mọi người, dù là lứa tuổi nào, cũng nên cố gắng đọc càng nhiều sách càng tốt.)
