Câu trả lời mẫu (Sample Answer) Sitting Down IELTS Speaking Part 1
Dưới đây là câu hỏi, ý tưởng và câu trả lời mẫu ở band điểm 6.0 – 6.5 cho chủ đề IELTS Speaking Part 1 – Topic: Sitting down
1. Where is your favorite place to sit?
Well, I love sitting on my grandmother’s rocking chair. Not only because its cushion is soft, and the back is strong but also because this chair produces feelings of nostalgia as it always reminds me of the time when was young, on this chair my grandmother always sang me to sleep while holding me.
- Rocking chair (n): ghế bập bênh
- Cushion (n): đệm
- Nostalgia (n): sự hoài niệm
2. Do you always sit down for a long time?
To be honest, I spend at least 8 hours a day sitting down as I have a nine to five job. Sometimes, I even have to sit for 3-4 hours at a stretch just to finish a deadline or a report. I don’t find this habit healthy as it can cause a number of health concerns and lately I get dizzy and tired more often. I guess extended sitting is also a reason, so I’ll try to be more active in the future.
- A nine to five job (n): công việc làm giờ hành chính
- At a stretch (phrase): liên tục, liền tù tì
- Extended sitting (n): ngồi lâu
3. Do you feel sleepy when you are sitting down?
I think it depends. I mean if I’ve had enough sleep or have something important to do, I rarely get sleepy. But yeah after hours of sitting to work or to read books, I still need a cup of coffee to keep me concentrated. I guess when sitting down and not moving much, my mind senses it as a signal of bedtime or a nap which makes me drowsy.
- Keep me concentrated (v): giúp tôi tập trung
- Drowsy (adj): uể oải, thờ thẫn
4. When you were a kid, did you usually sit on the floor?
Yeah sure, my mother claims that I usually sat on the floor as a child, most of the time sitting cross-legged on the floor to play with my favorite toys. Also, mom once told me that she rarely let me sit on a chair or anywhere high, for fear that I might fall off and get hurt.
- Sitting cross-legged (v): ngồi khoanh chân
- For fear that (phrase): sợ rằng chuyện gì đó sẽ xảy ra
